Peer Counseling
Peer counseling is an integral part of the center. Persons living with HIV/AIDS are on staff to provide real-life counseling to the newly diagnosed HIV patient. At each visit, the peer counselor will interview the patient to assess how they are coping with their diagnosis. Recommendations are made to the patient and referrals made to the primary care team if needed. Recommendations are made on adherence to therapy, joining a support group, substance abuse counseling etc.
